Exercise builds endurance.

exercise Pictures, Images and Photos

Well, I did 20 minutes of an aerobic workout at home today. That was about all I could handle at one time. I want to build up some endurance so I can attempt another hike. But the next time I go hiking I won't be so worn out and I'll be able to enjoy the scenery more.

Hiking

Hiking can be a great experience if you are prepared for it. Alicia and I went hiking to Romero Pools on Friday. We weren’t prepared for the length of the hike or for the steepness of the path. I almost gave up about 6 times. I had to keep stopping to rest. We kept asking people along the way, “How much further is it?” They kept saying, “You are almost there. Don’t give up now.” But finally we reached the refreshing stream of water. It is beautiful up there, and the water felt great on our feet. After we rested a while we began the hike back. I wasn’t sure if I was also going to be able to make it back. I was exhausted and couldn’t wait to get back to the safety and comfort of my own home. Sometimes following God’s path seems difficult. But, I guess if we get in shape, we can do things we never thought we could do. I’ll have to exercise more before I attempt it again. But the scenery in the mountains was awesome! Arizona is a great place to be!

My Happy Thought

Sometimes life gets tough. We have to weather the storms. When the storm seems it's worst, I need to pray more. But, one thing that helps me a lot is finding a happy thought to dwell on. It seems so easy to dwell on the negative stuff!

So, here is my happy thought.

My daughter just told me that as she was growing up in the church, she took for granted that God was there for her. Everything seemed to be going fine. But, then things in her life began to get difficult. She has begun reading the Bible more and searching for God’s guidance in her life. She realizes now, more than ever, how much she needs God!

This is an answer to my prayers and to prayers from friends at church!
